Autograph letter signed, one page - addressed and stamped to the reverse of an conjoined sheet, 5 x 8,25 inch, 13.05. (without the year), in French, to an unidentified gentleman - concerning meetings for breakfast and dinner, written and signed in black ink " Victor H." - additionally inscribed by another hand to the upper left corner, attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Hugo seated in a chair (altogether 11,5 x 10 inch), with mild intersecting letter folds, mild foxing, a very small tear to the lower left corner, and signs of wear to the upper corners (particularly to the conjoined address sheet) - in fine condition. Translated (in parts): "I will arrive in Paris on Tuesday morning. I will wait for you to breakfast at my house at half-past eleven with M. and Mme Luly, whom I have informed; but I will not have the pleasure (...) of having dinner with Mr. and Mrs. de P. (...) obliged to leave for Fourqueux (...) affectionately, Victor H." Provenance: The estate of J.D.
