Autograph letter signed (third person), 1 1/8 pages - folded double-page (on crowned VRA cipher headed notepaper), 4,5 x 7 inch, 20.06.1859, addressed to Duke of Somerset Lord - concerning the new Admiralty board, written and signed (third person) in dark ink "The Queen", with two horizontal mailing folds - in fine to very fine condition. Accompanied by the original envelope - written by Queen Victoria, 4,75 x 2,75 inch, with mild stains - in fine to very fine condition. Mounted (removable) with a picture by the previous owner, the world reknown Royal ephemera expert J. S. Hanson - Mr. Hanson has also added a few notes in beautiful handwriting (on backing paper - altogether 11,75 x 14,5). "The Queen acknowledges The Duke of Somerset`s letter of yesterday. The names he has submitted to her for the new Admiralty board are very good and The Queen approves of them accordingly"
