In parts: "Gestern Nachmittag wurde ich neuerdings durch das Gedicht überrascht, welches mich innigst erfreute. Haben mich Ihre schönen Lieder schon oft entzückt, so haben auch diese herzlichen Worte mich tief ergriffen ..." Translated: "Yesterday afternoon I was recently surprised by the poem, which delighted me deeply. Have your beautiful songs often delighted me, so have these heartfelt words taken me deeply..."
