Autographed letter signed, `Faculte Des Sciences De Paris` letterhead, 1 1/3 pages - both sides, 5,5 x 4 inch, Paris, 28.04.1946, in French, to Ellen Gleditsch - concerning Joliot-Curie`s forthcoming trips to Copenhagen and Oslo, and a conference on a French alliance, written and signed in dark ink "Irene Joliot Curie", in very fine condition. "Chere Mlle Gleditsch, Je compte partir de Paris le 3 mai pour Copenhague et en repartir le 4 ou le 5 mai pour Oslo. Je serai donc en tout cas a Oslo le 6 mai. Je resterai probablement jusqu`au 10 et repartirai pour Paris le samedi 11. Je ferai volontiers und conference a l`Alliance Francaise. A bientot. Tres amicalement - Irene Joliot-Curie" Ellen Gleditsch (1879-1968) was a Norwegian radiochemist and Norway's second female professor - starting her career as an assistant to Marie Curie, she became a pioneer in radiochemistry, establishing the half-life of radium and helping demonstrate the existence of isotopes.
