Accompanied by an autograph letter signed from Charles Augustin Sainte-Beuve (1804-1869), 1 1/4 pages (both sides), 20.06.1867, to François Barthélemy Arlès-Dufour (1797-1872) - concerning the recommendation of Sand's daughter Solange Clesinger, who wants to become the designer of upholstery fabrics. "Forcée de partir ce soir et d’errer quelques jours avant d’aller passer l’automne plus loin encore, il m’est impossible de vous assurer un autre rendez-vous. Mais nous nous verrons, n’en doutez pas, madame. Je sais ce que vous valez et je ne l’oublierai pas." Translated: "Forced to leave tonight and wander for a few days before I can spend the fall longer, it is impossible for me to make another appointment.
