Letter signed, one page, 8 x 9,75 inch, Berlin, 19.11.1819*, in German, to a "Legationskanzellist" (`legation councillor`) in Frankfurt/Main - concerning a money order, signed by Wilhelm von Humboldt in dark ink "Humboldt", with intersecting letter folds, and mild browning - in fine to very fine condition. In parts: "Es wird nichts übrig bleiben, als Herrn Rügemer die berechneten 40 Fl. auszuzahlen. Ich bitte Ew Wohlgeboren dies zu bewirken, und mir zu schreiben, ob Sie das Geld hier angewiesen haben wollen, oder ob ich es Ihnen dort übermachen soll..." Translated: "There will be nothing left but to pay Mr. Rügemer the calculated 40 Fl. (bottles). I beg your highness to do this, and write to me, whether you want the money here instructed, or whether I should hand over it to you there..." * In January of that year, Humboldt was appointed Prussian Minister of State Affairs.
