Letter signed, 2 pages - both sides, 7,75 x 9 inch, Luxembourg, 8.06.1823, in French, to Eugene de Beauharnais, the Emperor acknowledges that he was informed of the marriage of his daughter Josephine de Leuchtenberg to Oscar I (King of Sweden) - proxy marriage took place in Munich on 22 May 1823 and in person, a wedding ceremony was held in Stockholm on 19 June 1823, at which time Oscar married the princess Josephine, signed in black ink, with intersecting letter folds with a small tear (circa 1 inch) at the right edge - in fine to very fine condition. Accompanied by the original protective sheet - titled `Empereur d`Autriche & Imperatrice`.
