Letter signed, two pages, 10 x 14,25 inch, 7.01.1937, in Latin, letter of state to President Leon Cortes of Costa Rica, signed in black ink "Pius PP.XI.", with splitting to one edge of the intersecting letter folds - in fine condition. In parts (translated): "Through this message we want to assure you that the Apostolic See and State will intercede for those things necessary for the common good and these intentions we firmly commend for heavenly assistance…may you seek for your good soul the Apostolic blessing for yourself…and for all of the people of Costa Rica we impart blessings in the word."
