Autograph note signed, one pages (on verso of his printed visiting card), 3,5 x 2,25 inch, `Headquarters Army of the United States` stationery, (Washington D.C.), (30.12.1879), to his own brother John Sherman and Assistant Secretary of the Treasury John B. Hawley, written and signed in black ink "W. T. Sherman", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows William Tecumseh Sherman in a half length portrait in uniform (altogether 8,25 x 11,75 inch), with mild browning - in nearly very fine condition.
