Autograph letter signed, one page, 4,25 x 7 inch, Paris, 17.01.1901, in French, thank-you letter to an unnamed friend, written and signed in dark ink "Sully Prudhomme", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Prudhomme in a close-up portrait (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with a small tear to the upper left corner - in nearly very fine condition. "Mon cher ami, J'espère que cette lettre vous trouvera guéri ou, du moins, en pleine convalescener. J`ai apris avec chagrin que vous étiez malad - quand je me suis présenté a votre bureau pour vous remercier de vos si généreuses et si cordiales felicitations..." Translated: "My dear friend, I hope that this letter will find you cured or, at least, in full convalescener. I learned with sorrow that you were sick - when I came to your office to thank you for your generous and cordial congratulations..."
