Autograph letter signed, one page, 8 x 10,75 inch, personal stationery, Temecula (California), 9.06.1982, letter to Mr. Ed Levin - Carl Barks declines an invitation to a convention as "I am very shy by nature and I can`t hear well and my speaking voice is awful", written and signed by Carl Barks in blue ballpoint ink "Carl Barks", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a picture of Donald Duck (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with intersecting letter folds - in nearly very fine condition. Accompanied by the original envelope. "Dear Mr Levin - I must decline your invitation to appear and to dine at your convention in August. I am very shy by nature and I can`t hear well and my speaking voice is awful. I feel very uncomfortable in the presence of large groups of people. I will probably have to appear at the San Diego Comic Convention in July to autograph books, two of which are currently being sold in limited editions. That experience will leave me quivering for weeks. I wish you a very happy and succesful convention. Sincerely - The old duck man, Carl Barks"
