"My dear Sir: I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your favor of the 11th of December, inviting me to attend a dinner at the Country Club of Lansdowne on December 17th. I thank you very much for inviting me, but am under such pressure with the engagements I already have made that it is impossible for me to accept. I am glad to hear of the success of your women`s hockey team, and take pleasure in extending to you and to its members my good wishes. Very sincerely yours, - W H Taft"
