Autograph letter signed, four pages (both sides), 5 x 8 inch, `Palais de Monaco` stationery, (Monaco), (1910), in French, amusing letter to pianist Caroline de Serres - concerning his future projects, written and signed in black ink "C. Saint-Saens", with a central horizontal letter fold - in nearly very fine condition. Translated: "Dear friend This is the 20th of this month of April that will take place the Saintsaenseum of Miss Brisson ... As for me I will stay in Paris until the last days of May or at the latest on June 1st, when I will leave to King Edward's City where I will stay ... to enjoy on turtle soup; in the intervals, I will play at the Grrrreat Concert of Hollmann where we will hear for the first time (first performance, tzing! boom! boom!) the Duo (The Muse and the Poet), which I composed for him and Ysaye. (It is the latter who will make the Muse, and I wonder if he will not have to put a crown of myrtle and laurel on his head, it would be a nice effect). And then I'll have my 3 concerts ... I fooled on the piano. There was the Prince of Monaco, the King of Sweden who had breakfasted at the Palace, the Prince and the Princess of Saxony Meiningen, the Landgrave of Hesse, who I do know yet! I accompanied Litvin who was wonderful! And I played Glinka-Liszt's Circus Walk, which I had never performed before. Make a debut at my age and do not miss them, admit that it's fun!..."
