Signed postcard (Macocha) signed, 5,5 x 3,5 inch, Macocha, 1.06.1902, signed by Auguste Rodin and Alfons Mucha in pencil "A. Rodin" & "Mucha" - additionally signed by the Czech skulptors Stanislav Sucharda, Josef Maratka, Ladislav Saloun and others in pencil, attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows the poster of the Rodin Exhibition in Prague (altogether 8,25 x 11,75 inch), with scattered small stains - in fine to very fine condition.
This postcard was sent from the famous Czech resort `Macocha` on the 1st of June 1902 where these group of sculptors had a rest after the famous Auguste Rodin Exhibition in Prague.
Rodin’s work was widely known and shown in Germany and Central Europe, before, but especially after, his major retrospective of 1900, owing to the exhibitions organized by artists belonging to the Sezession movement, for whom Rodin epitomized modernity in sculpture.
