Autograph letter signed, 1/3 page - addressed and stamped verso, 9 x 7 inch, (Paris), 29.05.1814, in French, to the french politician Edouard Mounier (1784-1843) in Paris - Alexander von Humboldt informs his correspondent that the King of Prussia (`Le Roi de Prusse`= Frederick William III of Prussia) knew absolutely nothing about the news of a ball, which was widespread in the newspapers, but rather was about to depart, written and signed in dark ink "Humboldt", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a picture, shows Alexander von Humboldt in a beautiful portrait outdoors (altogether 8,25 x 11,75 inch), with intersecting mailing folds, and scattered very mild signs of wear - in fine to very fine condition. A.v. Humboldt" A.v. Humboldt"
