Autograph letter signed, one page, 5,25 x 6 inch, `Hotel Costanzi - Rome` letterhead, Rome, 12.01.1882, thank-you letter to an anonymous gentleman, written and signed in black ink "Alexander Graham Bell", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Alexander Graham Bell in a close-up portrait (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with intersecting mailing folds, mild stains and a few heavy tears have been professionally restored (to the reverse) - in fine to good condition. "Dear Sir Many thanks for the trouble you have taken on my account - Prof. Govi called upon me last night + gave me a good deal of the information I desired from the minister of Public Instruction, + also the address of the scientific gentlemen I wish to meet here - again thanking you for your note I am, dear Sir, Yours sincerely, - Alexander Graham Bell"
